Web app manages pottery lifecycle from design through sales

When Central Garden & Pet was ready to upgrade an in-house developed Access application supporting their pottery business, they searched for a firm with design, analysis and Dot Net technical know-how. They found 2Plus2.

The resulting web-based application "pandora" manages the pottery lifecycle from design through production and into sales. This application gave the product development group the ability to create and edit new styles and designs, turn designs into products, and request and calculate production and shipping costs. It also allows the Sales group to create price lists, catalogs, and customer programs.

The application incorporates a sophisticated set of user-maintained tables and calculations to determine pottery costs. Depending on customer needs, the system supports ex-factory, port-of-origin, landed, and final destination cost calculations taking into account tariff fees and shipping container specifications and restrictions.
